Met Gala 2017 Review

As we all know, one of the biggest parties of the year is the annual Met Gala in New York City. The A-listers from all industries come together on one couture-clad red carpet. This gala is all about designers presenting their tireless efforts and creativity, that is why I choose to make my review only positive. I will be presenting my favorite designs from the event, not in any specific order, and there will not be a “worst-dressed” review because overall everyone looked beautiful and confident and the designs were works of art themselves.

So here we go with my personal faves from the 2017 Met Gala:

First up we have Rihanna wearing a colorful and costume-esque Commes-des-Garcons Fall 2016 dress with strappy red heels. This look represents the original meaning of the Met Gala and her makeup accents the colors in the dress perfectly. Next we have Kim Kardashian wearing a clean Vivienne Westwood dress. The natural makeup and simple hair style go perfectly with her white gown. Gigi Hadid looked stunning in her nude Tommy Hilfiger asymmetrical gown with one black garter. A$AP Rocky wore a white turtleneck underneath a black denim Calvin Klein suit as he posed next to Gwyneth Paltrow. Next we see Chrissy Teigen and John Legend looked great as they matched in black and white, Teigen wearing a shear Marchesa gown with a lengthy train. Zendaya looked like an exotic princess with her au natural afro hair and her colorful Dolce & Gabbana ballgown. While carrying his old dreadlocks was a bit odd, Jaden Smith still looked great showing off his new buzzcut and sporting a long black jacket with shiny, patent black boots. Next in line we see Priyanka Chopra’s custom Ralph Lauren trench coat gown on the red carpet and Kylie Jenner posing with the legendary Donnatella Versace in her rose gold, shear Versace dress paired with her short bleached bob. Joe Jonas and Future rocked the red carpet with their twists to a classic suit, Jonas being seen in a maroon satin tux and Future in a tailed black suit with navy accents underneath. Wiz Khalifa wore an intricate white jacket with black edging and black pants, showing off his jewelry and tattoos. Next we have Lily-Rose Depp in her candy pink Chanel gown with sequined flower accents and dramatic black eye liner. Another princess in pink was Selena Gomez in her sparkling Coach gown with Marc Jacobs Beauty makeup. We finish this review looking at Blake Lively in her gold and blue peacock-esque Versace dress, Migos in their matching black suits with assorted chains, jewelry, and sunglasses, and Mary J Blige wearing a shear La Perla gown with a high slit.
